In order to reduce our output on pollution, people are putting their own personal efforts to help save our planet from global warming. These efforts range from simply reducing the garbage to even making your own vehicle that produces no pollution. And this is what Andrew Angelloti did.
With only US 6,000, Andrew Angelloti was able to convert his own 1988 Mazda pickup to run on nothing but electricity. In order to accomplish such a feat, he used 20 flooded lead acid batteries to create 120 volts which he then coupled to a 60 horsepower 9″ electric motor.
If you’re wondering about the performance of the vehicle, Angelloti’s truck has a top speed of 55 mph. It can reach up to a total of 40 miles per charge, enough for him to reach fairly distant vicinities.
As of writing, Angelloti is now working on his second conversion. The automobile he’s working on is a 1992 Toyota Tercel with a much bigger motor to get a lot of speed. He hopes to use a 120 horsepower motor so that he can be able to have a top speed of 80 MPH.
Now isn’t this something? If you can’t buy an electric automobile, you can just make your own. It certainly is a good idea that was made into a reality.
