MSN Direct’s weather, news, stocks, and entertainment info have been available on MSN Spot devices for a while now, but have been surprisingly missing from Microsoft’s own cellphone devices. Not anymore. You can get now up-to-date info right on your Windows Mobile home screen direct from whatever data connection you have (Wi-Fi, 3G, EDGE). Ideal of all, it’s free, which means that MSN Direct might be moving more towards a software service on already-connected devices, which in turn means that it might even expand to non Windows Mobile phones in the future? So I finally got around to getting a true Philly Cheesesteak this weekend. I was aware of the whole Pat’s versus Geno’s thing, but a sizable contingent of local Philadelphians steered Peter and me to Jim’s on South Street. I was aware of the whole Pat’s versus Geno’s thing, but a sizable contingent of local Philadelphians steered Peter and me to Jim’s on South Street. As a born-and-bred Midwesterner, I’m down for anything with melted cheese, meat, or mayonnaise and while the cheesesteak I got from Jim’s (see above) was pretty good, I didn’t quite reach the state of food euphoria I’m constantly chasing.

Dear Readers, Well, two out of three ain’t bad, I guess. I was meant to be joining Blam and the guy in the red hat, Captain Zissou oh yeah, Jesus, I think his name is, for a couple of days in Barcelona, but I have been struck down by a nasty, virulent ectoplasm-producing cold, so I’m staying home. Never mind, while they go out and fondle sexy new phones in Spain’s second city and keep you informed about the hottest cells and smartphones on offer this year, I shall see if I have the ability to break the world record for continuous sneezing.
