This particular phone, the Mooon+, which is currently just a concept, one-ups the iPhone by having a built-in, detachable Bluetooth dongle. (Of course, the iPhone, in turn, one-ups the Mooon+ by being real.)

To me, it sorta looks like a cross between a SideKick3 and a BlackBerry Pearl, only with a touchscreen. Like it or not, the touchscreen is here to stay. I guess it’s just one of those things I’ll have to get used to, lest I come across as a luddite, which I’m not. I’m just grumpy and resistant to change.

monitor-mold.jpgWithout a doubt, this has to be the most disgusting and gross tech gear pic gallery in the history of The Most Disgusting and Gross Tech Gear Photo Galleries. Ever. The vomit-inducing shot above, a pancake of beige, white and green mold with the Dell logo impressed on it, is just the aperitif. Honestly, I thought my hairy and gooey mouse was as grossirrific as it can get, but you people have proven me wrong. Full 26-photo gallery and the explanation of the crap above after the jump.

Dear Gizmodo,

A couple of years ago I helped my co-worker move her personal. After picking up her monitor, I was both repulsed and fascinated by what was growing underneath her Dell monitor. You can even see the logo “growth” (?). As you can see, this was no average dust bunny or coffee ring. Needless to state I had to take pictures to capture the moment before it got up and attacked us!

Enjoy!

We have the ability to only speculate what caused this. Probably a sugary coffee spill that got under the monitor base, with the Dell logo forming as the mold grew up.

You people are disgusting. Yet, somehow weirdly mesmerizing. I doubt anyone can ideal any of these, but what about cellphones, PDAs, laptops and other gadgets? Keep them coming to tips@gizmodo.com.

Check it out: I saw this X1950, which was one of the last and best DirectX 9 cards, featured on Tom’s Hardware’s Best Gaming Cards for the Money feature. They said they had it at Newegg for $89, but Newegg has removed that deal. Fortunately, a relatively reputable dealer has a similar deal. This is a steal of a price, you would normally be paying around $175 for one of these things. This is probably the best value you can get for the dollar right now; it’s got great performance and no games that really need DirectX 10 will run on anything less than a GeForce 8800GTS anyway.

00920080.jpgIt’s fair to call the GeCube an Asus Eee Computer clone. With a 7″ screen, 2GB of flash storage, Linux backbone and that form factor, I mean, c’mon. The 2.1lb computer does have two things going for it though. It has a splash proof keyboard and…what could the special talent be? (We have a neat picture…)

00920082.jpgOMG ITS HEAD POPPED OFF! We kid, the screen can be detached from the keyboard but retains full personal functionality. Now if the GeCube had combined that idea with a touchscreen, many of us would be pretty excited right now. Instead, the GeCube uses a trackpad on the back side (identical to the one on the keyboard). While still not a bad idea by any means, for $450, we wish they’d have splurged for stylus controls. [clubic]

The ladies at the *Sugar network have discovered that the Apple store in SF is full of geeky single guys. I think that’s actually in the yellow pages description of the store, but they decided to investigate. As expected, the store was packed with nerdy, semi-eligible men and very few women on the prowl. They documented their foray into the wild world of Macheads and now you can learn how it is ladies stalk their prey in a retail environment.

I’m not sure how this benefits most of our readers, since they are (studies show) for the most part asexual and sedentary, but those of you who are mobile and motivated might start using the Apple store as a pick-up spot; after all, ladies need iPods too. Be sure to use those tips you found on Attractology.

Can you pick up men at the Apple store? You Betcha! [GeekSugar]

Crocphone1.jpgNurses and Doctors rejoice: you can now buy Crocs for your cellphone! Ok, so the Crocs “O-Dial” [sic] is actually a shoe-themed cellphone holster, but it is official. Why your phone would enjoy the lightness, comfiness… um, waterproofness and stain-proofness of those lovely rubbery, resinous shoes is another matter, though. Oh — its got raised inside surfaces to protect device screens, and an adapter so you can use it to store credit cards? Ah yes, we understand now. It’s a marketing thing. And yet, cunning Gix reader, what better uses could you put your croc holsters to?

Available now in black, silver, red, grape, fuchsia, celery (celery? really?), cotton candy and turquoise for around $14. Please don’t you go attaching any of those plug-in charm things will you? [Pocket lint]
