I was told it would be available on the 9th, which was I told you the other day, but it looks like Verizon decided to let it loose a couple days early. It’s also cheaper than expected. It’s $220 with a $100 online rebate, but there’s also a $50 mail-in rebate bringing the grand total to $170. That’s not as cheap as AT&T’s current deal of $99, but it’s cheaper than T-Mobile’s $250 tag.

Soundwave is one of the most beloved of all Transformers. Loyal to Megatron and badass in each way, Soundwave was still left out of last summer’s giant motion picture. There are rumors he’s to be included in the sequel, but I’ll have to see it to believe it. That doesn’t mean Soundwave’s been MIA since the 80s. […]

That doesn’t mean Soundwave’s been MIA since the 80s. Indeed, this tiny video shows us what he’s been up to, some good, some bad.

Part two after the jump. Some language is maybe NSFW.

Go ahead and tell me this cellphone concept, the Egg, doesn’t look superior than the HTC Diamond. The color scheme, the contours and curves, the UI, it all looks superior, I think, than the Diamond. Go ahead and tell me this cellphone concept, the Egg, doesn’t look better than the HTC Diamond. The color scheme, the contours and curves, the UI, it all looks superior, I think, than the Diamond. Yes, the Diamond has the advantage of being a “real” cellphone, but these days I tend to like concepts more than actual, completed products.

Gateway is stated to be launching three new lines of desktop computers tomorrow. One aimed at gamers, one for on the internet media enthusiasts, and a line of entry level personal for average users.

For gamers, the FX series is the place to start. Gateway is highlighting the FX541, with it’s SLI motherboard, dual PCIe x16 slots, and has a factory overclocked NVIDIA 8800 GT video card.

If you’re into watching movies on your desktop or you’re a BitTorrent freak, you’ll want to look at the GT series. They feature a variety of configurations and can include AMD’s odd triple-core processor. Starting at $549, they’ve 15-in-1 card readers in the front, integrated NVIDIA GeForce 6150SE or ATI Radeon HD 3200 graphic cards. The machines all have large hard drives to manage your huge media libraries.

The DX series is a no-frills budget line for Mother and Father. They’re similar to the GT line, but also include A/V in/out jacks on the front for editing home movies.

The FX and GT lines come pre-loaded with Windows Vista or XP, your choice. The DX runs XP only. It’s notable that a Personal computer giant like Gateway is still bundling XP as an option, something that can’t make Ballmer happy.

You’ll be able to get machines from these lines tomorrow at Gateway.com

Apparently you can fit animals with all sorts of prosthetics these days. Take this dolphin, which got its tail caught in a crab trap two years ago. For two years the dolphin, Winter, couldn’t swim. Now, however!

The artificial tail took several months to complete, but now Winter is almost good as new.

Why do I bring this up? Because it’s science-related and everyone adores dolphins. No heavy lifting required.
