Sony’s E020 Walkman, the flash-based MP3 player for children who like to coordinate their gadgets with their outfits, will finally hit U.S. shores in mid-June. The E020 features a colored three-line LCD screen and a built-in USB jack with drag-and-drop MP3 transfer system (no SonicStage this time around, thankfully). Its selling point is its swappable faceplate, which lets you change the music machine’s style to suit your mood.

The E020 can be found in 1GB and 2GB flavors, for $69 and $79 respectively, and comes bundled with premium earphones and a handful of faceplates to get you started. Additional faceplates will be sold separately for $12 each. [Crave Asia]

The next version of Photoshop (CS 4) will be juicing up performance by taking advantage of hardware it hasn’t tapped before: graphics cards and physics processors. How much faster is the new 64-bit, GPU-injected Photoshop? At a demo at Nvidia’s HQ, TG Daily watched “the presenter playing with a 2 GB, 442 megapixel image care about it was a 5 megapixel image on an 8-core Skulltrail system. Changes made through image zoom and through a new rotate canvas tool were applied nearly instantly.” Update: John Nack from Adobe is calling bogus on some of TGDaily’s info, namely the Oct. release date and states the demoed tech isn’t “promised to go into any particular version of Photoshop.” So take it for what you will.

3D effects are spiffier too, with direct 3D model manipulation and rendering, as well as a snappier 3D accelerated panorama. Overall, it sounds enjoy it could be the most important Photoshop update in years when it drops in October. [TGDaily]

Aussie pub Current is reporting that the Eee Computer will soon morph into a “non-clamshell touchscreen-only device,” with an unveiling as soon as June 3 at Computex. Asus’s Australia retail manager confirmed they’re “obviously looking at form factors rather than just a clamshell” and that it would use a touchscreen. The caveat is that it ultimately might not wear the Eee badge since it’s wholly different from—and presumably pricier than—the rest of the line. It might seem like an off-kilter move, but a genuinely cheap tablet (say, $500) could be as game-changing as the original Eee. [Current via Electronista]
